Home Airstream Packing up!

Packing up!

by Chief

This has been a busy week packing up the house. We have been doing a lot of goodwill runs and painting work. Skye is such a great helper and can now easily paint the bottom 4 feet of a wall. Luca has been a great help with the Airstream. He now knows how to scan the satellites and loved learning about our 50 amp power cord. Already great to see the kids pitching in and learning new skills.

This weekend we are headed out to Westport with the Airstream. Looking forward to my first time surfing since Hawaii many years ago. No more fair weather excuses! Eileen our realtor will be having a open house both days and then will taking offers on Monday. There is only one other house in our price range so it should sell quick. The for sale signs went up today which shocked a few of neighbors that we have not shared our plans with. Overall people are really positive once they know the full story of our upcoming adventure.

Last weekend Luca and I were down in Corvallis picking up the Airstream. Corvallis is a cute town and I thought about Roger while we were down there. We bought the Airstream from the original owner who purchased it in 2013 and took good care of it. Luca picked this one out early in our search because it had a auto-locating satellite dish, cell phone signal amplifier and bigger TV’s. It a 2013 but is essentially the same decor and design as the 2018 ones we saw at the dealership. The inside shows a little wear from the Beavers football games they used to bring it to. I am sure that we will do way more damage in the first month than they did over the past 4 years. The kids love the Airstream and have been sleeping, doing their homework and playing in it all week.

The airstream likes to make the suburban look like it is going to do a wheelie.  We must need some more air in the tires and some new shocks.  On the road the two drive really well.  Once we get all of our gear loaded up we may need a bigger towing rig.

Our big trip is going to start on September first. We are still working out our exact route but have been swamped with the house.  The initial plan is to head up to Tofino, BC where Lara is going to do her yoga teacher training with Eoin and Insiya.  Last time we were up there I did not surf which I have been regretting.  I won’t miss that chance this time.  After Tofino we may head out to Montana and Wyoming before heading south.   More to come!

Next stop Westport!
